Be Open Minded

Selecting an Open Source product is a strategic decision that brings the organization freedom of choice and the added benefit of independence from software vendors.

Openly Adaptive Architectures

Most Open Source architectures have more functionality than commercial offerings, thus giving an advantage to the organizations that use them.

Our Open Source solutions include:

  • Unix to Linux
  • Open Source Maturity Model – developed by Capgemini to measure the maturity of open source applications and help determine if an open source product is suitable for an organization.
  • Open Source application servers - Web technology.

We use our Migration Factories and market leading tools to automatically migrate applications from sometimes inflexible and costly legacy environments to modern IT platforms like J2EE or .Net.  Both during and after Open Source implementation, our networked resources provide clients the necessary support to remain agile and successful.

To further enhance the services we bring to clients, Capgemini leverages close ties with such partners as HP, Intel, and Redhat for Linux to ensure delivery of the latest technologies.  Our global network of Advanced Delivery Centers (ADC’s) are key to our success with Open Source.  These facilities are a primary access point to practical experience in re-using and implementing open source software components.
