Capgemini’s European Energy Markets Observatory is an annual report analyzing the electricity and gas markets. Launched in 2002 with the primary objective to assess the progress of deregulation in the European Member States, the report now tackles all the major issues faced by the Utilities industry.
The Observatory analyzes the main indicators within the electricity and gas markets, monitoring the supply and demand balance, measuring the progress in establishing a European integrated market and following the advancement of competition.
The report scans all segments of the value chain and assesses the hot topics of the moment (increase of the primary energy prices, nuclear, security of supply, renewables, CO2 emissions, end-users’ tariffs, etc.), to identify the key trends of the electricity and gas industries.
This short film previews some of the key topics highlighted in the report as its release approaches.
