Cap Gemini Ernst & Young create e-business solution for newmonday.com career portal

As management and IT consultants, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young are closely involved in the organisational and technical support of newmonday.com. This is a new VNU and Randstad career portal, launching in September of this year. The aim is for it to become the biggest on line career portal (employment agency) for the higher educated. The site will launch in the UK, Germany, France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

31 August 2000

The core objective of the portal is to bring together supply and demand via the CV databases, in which candidates can lodge their profile in the form of career wishes, specific skills and CV. For recruiting companies and organisations newmonday.com can match the profile of the candidates in the CV database with a vacancy. Suitable candidates are approached and a list of interested and available candidates is drawn up. The ideal employee is matched with the ideal job. Recruiting companies can also place the administrative side of their recruitment processes with newmonday.com. As the portal gradually takes shape further functionalities will be added.

Blueprint

Cap Gemini Ernst & Young provide consultancy at both an operational and a technological level on the basis of a detailed blueprint. At the operational level they consider the value proposition, the launch approach and the internal business processes of the new organisation to be set up. At the technological level they deal with consultancy and design activities. For example, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young take care of the software and architecture needed for the online performance of psychological tests and for the support of clients’ overall recruitment and selection workflow. The implementation of a CRM program forms the basis of this. Cap Gemini Ernst & Young subsidiary Bolesian has analysed the labour market expertise of newmonday.com and then translated it into a matching system. Advanced matching technology makes it possible to find good candidates for a vacancy.

Ruud Bakker, interim CEO at newmonday.com: “With newmonday.com VNU and Randstad together want to create the biggest internet career platform in Europe. Since speed is ‘key’ here, we wanted an international partner with essential experience in the

e-business field. For us Cap Gemini Ernst & Young is that partner, because they have the expertise for the whole process, from business model through to implementation of the solution.”

Jaap van Zweeden, programme manager Cap Gemini Ernst & Young for newmonday.com: “Our involvement in this project shows that we do not simply focus on supporting ‘start-ups’ that are entirely internet-oriented. As part of our management and IT consultancy activities we do also focus on the combination of old and new economy. Newmonday.com has been set up from existing businesses. We connect people and processes with the requirements and opportunities of the new economy. In short, we support existing organisations in their transformation to the new world.”
