Mumbai - Cap Gemini Ernst & Young today announced strategic appointments relating to its Global Technology Services discipline as well as operations in India.
Salil Parekh, CEO of India and COO of Asia-Pacific, has been promoted to lead the Global Technology Services discipline and member of the Group development committee. Baru S Rao, VP (Operations & Delivery) in India will succeed Salil as the CEO in India.
Salil has been with the Group for the past 12 years. Most recently, he was responsible for operations in Asia-Pacific and India. He brings his operations, sales and P&L experience to his new role as the global leader for the Technology Services discipline. Prior to his Mumbai assignment, Salil was a partner in the New York office, serving financial services clients.
Baru, who joined the Group last year, brings 20 years comprehensive experience
in the IT industry and a worldwide background. This includes 8 years in the US
and Europe, 14 years in the largest Indian IT company, Tata Consultancy Services,
sound project management over ten years, sales in the US and more recently delivery
management. Before joining CGE&Y, Baru was the COO of Syntel, a NASDAQ listed
company, where he managed 3,000 people.
