Åsa

Åsa has a Bachelor of Social Science in Informatics from the University of Lund, Sweden. She also spent 18 months on a Creative Programming program in Gävle in the north of Sweden. After her degree she did a 6 month internship before joining Capgemini.

Inspiration

“Firstly I was attracted by the fact that Capgemini is a big international company with lots of opportunities. You get to work with big clients on exciting projects. Capgemini is also a stable company, with a history and knowledge, and experienced people you can learn from.”

Development

Åsa has been at Capgemini for 7 years. “In this time, I have been able to take on lots of different roles. I really like that – it gives me lots of variety.” When she first started, she worked with development in different portal projects; she has also worked with usability, design of graphical user interfaces and education of clients in the portal solution delivered by Capgemini. Now she mainly works directly with clients and their requirements, often as Requirements Analyst or Technical Project Manager. For the last 18 months, she has also been part of a core team working on the portal service offering for Sweden.

Everyone truly cares about the clients and we always try to deliver our very best.” Åsa also appreciates the wide resources and knowledge provided by colleagues around the world. “When one of our clients was looking for a specialist in WAP, a specification for communication for wireless applications, we found out that the person who invented the standard works for Capgemini!”

Dedication

My greatest challenge is the everyday work to deliver great value to our customers. It’s fun and you develop skills through different assignments and different environments. Since starting at Capgemini, I have improved in all areas, both technically and in management skills.

Time Out

Åsa is interested in art, particularly painting, photography and pottery. “Actually my work and outside activities intertwine. It goes both ways: with my art, I can apply my creative side to the aesthetics and graphics that I need at work. And the organizational skills I have developed at work certainly helped me to plan my wedding last summer!”
